Course toward Chopta
Covered by aisle of Himalayas, enthroned with a wide range of flora and fauna Chopta meadows sets its course through the exquisite valley of Rishikesh via Rudraprayag, Kund, Ukhimath or via Rudraprayag Karnprayag, Chamoli , Gopeshwar. It is 450kms from Delhi regular buses are available from all the major cities as it lies between the route connecting Gopeshwar and Guptkashi.
Visiting Seasons
Chopta is endorsed with alluring snow filled mountain peaks, widespread meadows, and it is far from city howls. Chopta is Unexplored making it a must visit destination for the trekkers and eventually it attracts the snow trekkers and snow sport adventurers as the temperature here falls to minimum to −15 °C in the month of November till March . Temperature from March to May remains between 10 °C and 30 °C. Monsoon here starts from the month of July and end in October. Visitors in the month of November experience 4 to 7 foot thick deep layer of snowfall.
Trekking and Hiking in Chopta

Some renowned trekking sites are titled as
Deoria Tal trek
4 to 5 hours long stretch starting from Kund to Deoriatal starting from Sari village to Deoriatal. Deoria Tal is renowned from the times of Mahabharat it is told that Yaksha living in Deoriatal asked questions to the Pandavas and the one not able to answer it correctly died until Dharamraj Yudhister gave the all the answers correctly and resurrected the other four.
Chandrashila trek and Tungnath trek
Chandrashila peak is positioned at a height of 4090 meters above sea level this peak is snow covered from November till March. 7 to 8 feet’s of snow lying in these peaks makes it ideal for snow trekking and skiing. Tungnath temple located at 3680 meters is a signature destination of this trek this temple belongs to Panch Kedar group of shrines making it an important Hindu pilgrimage.
Rohini Bugyal
A full day trek to the meadows of Rohini named as Rohini Bugyal. This meadow is covered with rhododendron forest and the view of snow cuffed peaks of Kala Parvat gives a panorama view. Melodic chirping of birds and the tress adds flavor to the trekking adventure. Rohini provides perfect habitat for birds making it an ideal destination for bird watching. Monal and other rarest birds can be spotted here.
Madmaheshwar
Positioned at an altitude of 3497m lies a Madmaheshwar temple. This temple is dedicated to lord Shiva one of the prominent Hindu pilgrimage as it belongs to one of the Panch Kedar. It is said that it was built by the Pandavas. Route to Madmaheshwar is escorted by a dazzling view of Kedarnath, Chaukhamba and Neelkantha peak making it an exquisite trekking destination.
