Surkanda Devi temple and trek

Surkanda Devi temple is one of the prominent Hindu pilgrimage as it is one of the Shakti Peeth. According to the legends the head of Hindu Goddess Sati fell off here while Lord Mahadev was carrying her corpse to Kailash. The way toward Surkanda Devi temple is followed by a beautiful trek of 8Kms from Dhanaulti or you can reach here via 20 mins drive. Peaks of Nandadevi, Chaukhamba, Trisul, Kamet and many more are also visible from here.

Way to Dhanaulti passes from a famous tourist destination Mussoorie. Dhanaulti lies in the proximity of 50Kms from Dehradun Buses are available from Dehradun ISBT which is connected to all the major bus stations. Taxis are also available as per the demand or else visitors can rent a bike or a car from Dehradun.
