When to Visit

The Valley of Flowers is open for visitors from June to October. However, you must avoid the monsoon month which is July. Rest of the year, the valley of flowers is covered with snow and it is best to skip the winter season.

You can see the blooming flowers and lush greenery in June, August, September, and October. Of course, the first monsoon rain will make the valley look stunning, but the rain may disrupt your trek.

How to Reach ?

The Valley of Flowers is 512 kilometers away from Delhi and 309 kilometers from Dehradun. The closest destination to the Valley of Flowers is Govind Ghat. After reaching Govind Ghat, the travelers need to opt for another form of travel.

By Air: You can reach Jolly Grant Airport at Dehradun and then hire a taxi that goes till Govind Ghat. After reaching Govind Ghat, you would need to go to Ghangaria – the base camp. This is the starting point of the lovely trek that takes you to the Valley of Flowers.

By Bus: You can take a bus from Delhi ISBT to Dehradun, Rishikesh or Haridwar. After getting down at any of these destinations, hire a taxi till Govindghat.

By Car: It will be a long drive from Delhi because it is 512 kilometers away. It is best to opt for a cab, bus or fly Jolly Grant Airport.

By Train: The nearest railway station is in Haridwar and Rishikesh. You can book train tickets online and head to Rishikesh or Haridwar. After reaching the station, take a cab or a local bus that goes to Govind Ghat.
